Hi, I’m Wanda! If you’re looking for a gentle, easygoing companion, I might be your perfect match. I have a calm, mellow personality and truly enjoy the quieter side of life. I’m happiest just being near my people—whether that’s relaxing at your feet, lounging on the couch, or simply keeping you company throughout the day.
I’m known for my sweet and friendly nature, and I love forming close bonds with the people I trust. My affectionate and loyal personality makes me a wonderful companion for someone looking for a steady, devoted friend. I cannot wait to find a forever home where I can share all the love I've got to give.
Wanda tested positive for heartworm and will need to undergo treatment once they arrive in the DMV, either while in foster or once they are with their adopter. RDR will cover the cost of the heartworm treatment through our vet partner. If the adopter would prefer to complete treatment at their vet, RDR will reimburse up to the treatment cost through our vet partner. During treatment, they need restricted exercise to short leashed walks only, and they need a fairly quiet home where they aren’t going to be overstimulated too much. Once the treatment is complete and they get the all clear from the vet, they will be able to live a totally normal/unrestricted life like any other dog. Dogs should be retested 9-12 months after treatment is completed and every year afterwards as part of their annual exam.
