Hickory, Dickory, Dock and Mouse's parents were a bluetick coonhound and an Australian cattle dog. The owner had both parents and were bottle raised after their mother had been killed by a car. They are very friendly and social pups! Good with: Dogs, Kids, Cats (likes to play with cats) House trained: Work in progress! Energy level: Moderate Noise level: Some, when left alone Hi there, I'm Hickory, a snuggly and smart puppy with boundless energy and a heart full of love for kids and humans. I've got a soft spot for cats too and can't resist the temptation to play with them – maybe a bit too much sometimes. One of my absolute favorite things is a game of fetch; there's nothing quite like the thrill of chasing after toys. I'm a friendly pup who enjoys the company of other dogs, though I'm still figuring out the whole playtime dynamic, especially at the dog park. In just a week in my foster home, I've picked up on commands like "sit" and I'm working hard on others like "crate," "down," and "touch." I might be a bit rambunctious and mouthy, but hey, I'm a puppy. Potty training is also a bit of a work in progress, and I'm still figuring out what's off-limits for chewing. Manners and leash training are also on the to-do list, but don't worry, I'm a quick learner. Car rides? Well, let's just say I'm not their biggest fan right now. I tend to get a bit shaky, but I'm slowly getting used to the whole experience. We're working on potty training, and while I've had a few accidents, I'm learning the ropes. And did I mention I'm crate-trained? Yep, that's right! I love playtime, short walks, and those delightful zoomies that just happen. My day usually starts around 7:30 with a quick bathroom break and some playtime. I tag along for a car ride when it's time to drop off the kiddo at school. I spend a few hours in my crate, have another play session, some training, and maybe a nap. Evenings are for more playtime, training, and hanging out with the kiddo. I'm usually tucked into bed around 9, but I get a midnight wake-up call for another bathroom break before settling in my crate for the night. I'm not a big fan of walks just yet; I prefer staying close to the yard or heading back inside where the cats are. With a bit of patience and some treats, I might change my mind. I'm a smart pup, eager to please, and I know there's so much more I can learn with the right family. I can’t wait to find my forever home where I can share all the love I’ve got to give! My foster guardian says: “Hickory is a snuggly, smart, and energetic puppy! He loves kids, cats, and other dogs. He settles well in the crate and is getting the hang of house training. After 7 days in his foster home, he already learned "sit" and is working on "crate," "down," and "touch." Likes: Kids, humans, cats, fetch Dislikes : Riding in the car My ideal home: A home with a yard with kids or other dogs with lots of activity, at least while Hickory is a puppy. Cats in the home would be fine as long as they can tolerate his level of rambunctiousness. Adoption Application : http://bit.ly/adoptrdr Foster Application : https://rdr.formstack.com/forms/foster_app A few things to consider before applying to adopt a puppy: Puppies require a lot of upfront work including both obedience and house training Puppies cannot be left home alone for long periods while they are young You might need to ‘puppy-proof’ your home before bringing one home
