Hi I'm Bennie! I was rescued from a severe neglect/abuse situation and I'm learning how to feel safe and loved. Given my previous circumstances I'm on the nervous/shy side and will need a patient family ready to help me come out of my shell and trust people again.

I’m a sweet but shy pup who's still finding my way in this big, bustling world. I'm learning to sleep soundly in my crate all night and have mastered the art of being accident-free in the house. I'm sensitive to corrections, so gentle guidance works best for me. I get really scared of the noisy city streets, so I prefer having a canine buddy with me when I need to potty outside. Dog parks are my safe haven!

Leashes and walks were a mystery to me at first, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. Stairs? No problem—I can handle those now! However, the moment we step outside alone, I tend to freeze up. I love playing with my toys on my own, but I'm still figuring out how to play with humans without feeling overwhelmed.

I'm beginning to warm up to my human for food and pets, and I even come when called now. I'm sure I'll become a cuddly companion in time, but I'll need some patience. I find joy in playing with other dogs, even if I can be a bit awkward in a charming, funny way. I'm not particularly driven by food, but I enjoy my meals and bones, and high-value treats inside the house catch my interest.

I'm well-behaved around other dogs, showing no signs of food aggression. Interacting with other pups makes me truly happy. With some more time, love, and understanding, I know I'll blossom into a confident and affectionate member of the family.
