I'm ready for my new family!

Hi there! I’m Benji, and despite having a tough start to life, I'm still the sweetest, most affectionate old soul with so much love to give.  Some might say it's a miracle that I'm still here, but that's because I refused to give up!  When I first came to rescue, I had pneumonia from an untreated infection, and I spent days in the hospital fighting for my life.  I've been nursed back to health but was also diagnosed with a heart murmur, so I’ll always need a little extra love and care, including daily medicine.  I already fought my hardest to survive, so now all I need is someone who will love me for the miracle I am and share my golden years with. 

Despite my heart condition, I still have a joy for life and a lot of love to give.  I'm a classic velcro dog - the kind that will follow you around from room to room and curl up in your lap as soon as you sit down.  If I could be snuggling with my humans 100% of the time, I would be!  Some of my favorite activities are snuggling with my people, keeping the couch warm, making blanket nests, and sleeping.

When I'm not snoozing or snuggling, I enjoy leisurely, short walks to sniff and make new friends.  I also like to tag along everywhere you go - I love car rides and enjoy being carried or hanging out in a sling.  My foster mom says that I'm the sweetest, most affectionate sweetheart and that I make the best companion.
