My foster guardian says: “My favorite thing about Peaches is how happy she is!”
Likes: walks, playing with other dogs, riding in the car
Hi, I'm Peaches, and I’m as sweet as a Georgia, er…DMV area peach!
My foster family says I’m a kind, gentle, happy go lucky girl. I’m also very friendly, and up for any adventure! If you're looking for a dog who's equal parts cuddle bug, hiking buddy, and squirrel patrol officer, I might be your girl.
Right now I’m living with a few doggy foster siblings, and playing with them is one of my favorite parts of the day! We love running around the backyard together! I’m very social and love making new friends out on walks. I’d love a doggy sibling in my future home, but would also be fine as an only child.
In addition to being a pup with a great personality, I’m also really well-behaved! I’m totally potty trained, I do great in my crate, I walk well on leash, and I already know ‘sit’, ‘off’, and ‘come’. I’m eager to learn even more tricks, especially if the learning process involves treats!
I’m a big fan of tug-of-war, the occasional half-hearted game of fetch (I kinda get it, but let’s not make it a thing), and antagonizing squirrels from a safe distance. When I’m not adventuring, you’ll find me sprawled out on the softest surface I can find — beds, rugs, dog beds, couches, etc. My favorite treats include peanut butter Kongs and bully sticks, and while I’m not a big licker, I am affectionate and love a good cuddle session.
One thing you should know about me: I have a condition called Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA) and I have a history of persistent hookworms. I'm currently on two medications to manage my IMHA (which cost approximately $35 per month). Because of my condition, I need to get regular blood panels to monitor my health and I need to be careful about getting vaccines, which can aggravate IMHA (for example, prioritize only necessary/required vaccines, get them at lower doses, space out vaccines, use steroids before/after vaccines to help my body out). Because of that, I might also not be a great fit for dog parks.
Even though it has been a difficult year as I figure out my health needs, I still have love to give and would love a family who will continue to support my health journey.
If you're looking for a sweet, funny, low-maintenance girl with just the right amount of zoom and snuggle, I’d love to meet you. Let’s go for a walk and see if we click!
