I'm not quite ready to go to my new home.

Richy

I'm in the Recovery Room - I'll Be Available Soon

Hi, I'm Richy! I’m definitely a goofball at heart—always ready to entertain with my playful antics and quirky sense of humor. You’ll catch me trying to make you laugh when you least expect it! I’ve got a soft spot for toys, and watching me play is sure to put a smile on your face. I might be a little shy when we first meet, but give me some time, and I’ll open up, showing you my true loving and loyal side. I’ll need a little help with walking on a leash, but I’m eager to learn! I did fine with the other shelter dogs, so I’m pretty friendly and get along with others. If you’re looking for a goofy, loving companion, I’m your guy! The nice folks at RDR will update my profile when they learn more about me. I cannot wait to find a forever home where I can share all the love I've got to give.

Richy tested positive for heartworm and will need to undergo treatment once they arrive in the DMV, either while in foster or once they are with their adopter. RDR will cover the cost of the heartworm treatment through our vet partner. If the adopter would prefer to complete treatment at their vet, RDR will reimburse up to the treatment cost through our vet partner. During treatment, they need restricted exercise to short leashed walks only, and they need a fairly quiet home where they aren’t going to be overstimulated too much. Once the treatment is complete and they get the all clear from the vet, they will be able to live a totally normal/unrestricted life like any other dog. Dogs should be retested 9-12 months after treatment is completed and every year afterwards as part of their annual exam.
