Hey there, I'm Dock, a three-month-old hound mix trying to figure out this whole city life thing. I may be just a young pup, but I've got my quirks.

Let me tell you, I've got this thing for shoes and hats. Yep, I'm a bit of a thief, but I'm still teething, so chewing is my jam right now. But here's the scoop - I'm crazy about treats, so if you're holding out a tasty snack, you've got my full attention.

My humans say I'm loveable and playful, and I can't argue with that. I've got energy for days, but when it's crate time, I'm cool with that too.

Recently, I embarked on my first big hike at Roosevelt Island, and let me tell you, the smells and attention from new people and furry friends were a blast. I'm still figuring out how to say hi to strangers, but I'm just a three-month-old explorer.

I've been to indoor dog parks and had a good time with similar-sized dogs and other pups. Big dogs with big barks? Not really my thing. But I'm trying to be cool about it. I’m also not a huge fan of big city noises. If you can’t tell, loud noises aren’t really my jam.

Oh, and did I mention I'm a car champ? Road trips? Count me in!

As for training, well, I'm a work in progress. But my humans say I'm eager to please, especially if there are treats involved. Currently, I've got a routine going - early morning bathroom breaks, training, playtime, walks, crate time, dinner, more walks, play, and a bedtime potty break. Phew, it's a busy day being a puppy.

I don't need a yard, but if you take me on plenty of walks and give me some good playtime, I'm golden. I'm still working on my potty training, so quick access to grass would be great for me. I'm described as quiet, and although I've met some older kids on the trail and did fine, I haven't been put to the test with kids in a home.

So, if you're looking for a goofy, affectionate, and playful pup, that's me – Dock! I can’t wait to find my forever home where I can share all the love I’ve got to give!

A few things to consider before applying to adopt a puppy:

Puppies require a lot of upfront work including both obedience and house training

Puppies cannot be left home alone for long periods while they are young

You might need to ‘puppy-proof’ your home before bringing one home
